Mobile Application Developers Embrace Handango e-Commerce Solution  Wednesday, November 17 2004

Handango, the leading provider of mobile downloads, today announced a slew of new licensees for its mobile e-commerce solution, the Handango Commerce Engine. The licensees include phone application superstars such as Sorrent and Simeda; content leaders such as Fodor's; leading game publishers such as Namco America Inc., makers of PAC-MAN, Ms. PAC-MAN and Galaxian; and handheld stalwarts such as DDH Software and Chapura. In total, more than 50 mobile content developers have begun using the Handango Commerce Engine this year, bringing the total number of licensees to over 300.

The Handango Commerce Engine is an e-commerce solution for mobile content developers. With the Handango Commerce Engine, developers can sell mobile downloads over-the-air or on the Web. The engine includes a variety of marketing and customer management features optimized for the mobile space as well as rich reporting and analysis functionality.

"The Handango Commerce Engine lets application developers of all sizes leverage the same carrier-grade infrastructure used by some of the largest brands in the mobile industry," said Randy Eisenman, president and chief executive officer of Handango. "I could not be more pleased with the overwhelming reception we've had from mobile software developers."

"The Handango Commerce Engine was the perfect solution when we were looking to launch our Palm OS(R) games such as PAC-MAN, Ms. PAC-MAN, and Galaxian on our new Web site for wireless content, www.namcogames.com," said Scott Rubin, general manager, sales and business development at Namco America. "Handango's technology made it easy for us to setup a very rich store and give our customers access to our classic arcade titles on new mobile platforms."

"The strong marketing tools and initiatives afforded to us by the Handango Commerce Engine enable us to reach more customers than ever before. As a result, we've seen our Handango sales increase by over 130 percent," said David Haupert president of DDH Software.

"We use the Handango Commerce Engine to sell our hit wireless games such as Monkey Ball, Aiai's Funhouse and Home Run King directly from our own Web site. Using the Handango Commerce Engine has enabled us to tap the Internet market, making purchasing our products simple and convenient for the consumer. This has definitely contributed to our overall profitability," said Glenn Wissner, senior producer at SEGA Mobile.

Existing Handango Commerce Engine licensees who have used the solution for several years include Extended Systems, JAMDAT Mobile, MobiMate, Paragon Technologies, Developer One, iambic and many others. A number of these existing licensees, including MobiMate, Cerience Corporation, SplashData and Extended Systems as well as Handmark have expanded their Handango Commerce Engine implementations to leverage international capabilities. In total, more than 30 new international deployments have occurred in 2004 in British, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Euro zone and Japanese markets.

The Handango Commerce Engine is built on the same core Handango AMPP technology used by leading mobile operators, device manufacturers and portals to provide mobile download to their customers. For more information on the Handango Commerce Engine, visit http://corp.handango.com.
