Greenlight Wireless Featured in Gartner Wireless Industry Report Monday, May 2 2005
Greenlight Wireless is one of eight companies appearing in the "Cool Vendors in Mobile and Wireless, 2005" report recently published by Gartner. This report spotlights companies that are pushing the envelope in wireless technologies.
"Greenlight (Wireless) offers an alternative to client-based mobile browsing technologies, with a server-based intelligent content optimization solution for the mobile environment," writes Michael King, Gartner analyst and co-author of the report. "Greenlight's technology provides for a better end-user experience for mobile browsing and requires no changes to HTML-based content (an advantage for content owners)."
Greenlight Wireless' optimization technology is incorporated into a free Web portal/browsing service called Skweezer that optimizes Web pages, searches, and e-mail for use on PDA's and cell phones. Mobile Internet users access Skweezer by visiting www.skweezer.net, then using the portal as a "wireless gateway" to browse and search the Web. Skweezer compresses and reformats content being downloaded to the user's device, so that it loads faster, looks better, and is easier to navigate. Skweezer also includes a mail client, RSS reader, address book, and other useful features designed specifically for the mobile environment.
