How Creative and Innovative You are in Business
August 6th, 2009
In past years, two words summarised what should be done to achieve success in business : quality and productivity. What the mean of the two words? Quality : matching customer needs. Productivity: efficient utilize of resources. However, today we would run short if we put accentuation only on these concepts. Change and uncertainty specify a new management environment where creativity and innovation are deciding to success.
It is right if they say that this is nothing new. The real things to must know is how the quality and productivity systems have structure, budgets, processes and standards (like ISO) to help implement them ? Literally all companies have implemented these processes. There are already too many mysteries about the quality and productivity.
Now the questions center on the implementation of innovation systems. Now you can ask yourself: How is the innovation system of your company? What is the structure committed to innovate? What about the budget? How many hours per week committed to initiation workers? What actions are defined to control it this finds?
To say that your company is creative and innovative isn’t credible if we can’t respond adequately to these questions. Nevertheless, we must first answer a more rudimentary question: what is innovation ? Innovation is the knowing and deliberate action to produce, build or produce something new to positively affect a link in the value range of the company.
